Where it started:
We are a small group of teachers, and our story began when we got tired of seeing children left untaught in classrooms because teachers could not find accommodation near their schools.
We decided to set up what became a successful Facebook group where landlords could share available accommodation (properties and rooms) with teachers looking to rent. Along the way, we saw strong support among landlords to help key workers find housing in the communities where they work. It was from this experience that the idea of Staffnests was born.
Our aim is to create a marketplace where Ireland’s registered key workers searching for rental accommodation can connect with landlords who have properties and rooms to rent. Key workers registered with their respective Irish governing body (Teaching Council, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, Irish Medical Council, PSI, CORU, etc.) can easily register with Staffnests.
We verify the registration of key workers on Staffnests to help landlords connect confidently with teachers, Gardaí, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff seeking accommodation.
For our key workers, we want to make finding the right accommodation easier. We ask our landlords to provide good quality housing and flexibility in leases where possible to meet the needs of key workers.
We do not influence the rent charged by landlords, nor do we get involved in viewings or lease agreements. All listings and platform activity on Staffnests must comply with Irish equality legislation.
Our job is simple: we connect registered key workers with landlords and let you do the rest!
